Assorted Enthrallments
Tonight, I lazily forward you to a post I wrote just now (Friday night, January 11, 2008). Oh well, at least it contains a killer Nashville sunset picture I took while driving home this afternoon!
The post also contains a quick summary of tonight’s 20/20 show on ABC — a show about happiness. Great topic.
I fully intended to write a full post here tonight, too, but it’s already after 11pm and I have to go perform at least five hours of landscape maintenance in the morning. That means I get up early to meet a coworker at the Nashville landscaping company headquarters, load the truck, then get down and dirty for at least half the day. But the last half of Saturday is mine! I shall write, write, and write some more.
Soon I will write a detailed account of my so-called ‘church dilemma’ and how it was resolved. The short version of the church dilemma’s disposal is found here. Spoiler: I decided it is a complete waste of time and effort and lifeforce (and who knows what else) for me to make any further effort in joining — or regularly attending — any Protestant church, especially the fundamentalist ones. It is simply not for me. I have very good reasons for this, as I have considered it far more carefully than just about anyone I can think of, as religion has been a subject of intense rumination, study, and obsession for me since I was a teenager. (For a while, I was convinced that my alcoholic and addictive tendencies were caused by my religious confusion.)
